Nebraska police are investigating after someone loaded Toyota trucks and cars onto a truck and drove them off a dealership Monday night.Police believe at least 81 vehicles were taken from Legacy Auto Sales in Scottsbluff, Neb., reported the Scottsbluff Star Herald.Miranda Cervantes, an employee with the western Nebraska dealership, said that three management team members have also disappeared and are possibly responsible for the missing vehicles, reported KMGH-TV in Denver."It's been a very surprising day," Cervantes said. "As soon as I came in, I knew something was wrong."The desks of Allen Patch, comptroller Rachel Feit and general manager Rick Covello were emptied out. Computers from their desks were also gone.Cervantes said the dealership was having financial trouble. She declined to give details but said "bills weren't being paid."Police said they are investigating the missing vehicles as a possible crime. Officials from the Nebraska motor vehicle licensing board will be investigating the matter."With information that we have turned up about financial difficulties Legacy was having, and the contact from Toyota, we believe this is a criminal matter," said Capt. Kevin Spencer of the Scottsbluff Police Department.Investigators plan to contact port authorities in Wyoming and Utah where truckers would have to check in. Spencer said police believe the cars are headed to Utah because of Patch and Feits' ties to that state.
