Medium-Sized Gas Grills Tested
Consumer Reports tested 37 medium-sized grills and one of them actually started to melt while it cooked steaks. The $650 Broil King Signet 90 began melting when six steaks were cooking on the hot grill. Consumer Reports found problems with all three Broil King Signet 90s. They found molten metal dripping under the grill.“We've been testing gas grills for 30 years and this is the first time we've ever seen anything like this," said Mark Connelly of Consumer Reports.The Broil King, a grill company, has issued a safety recall for the Broil King Signet/Sovereign/SovereignXL Gas Barbecue with model numbers starting with 986xxx, 987xxx, 988xxx. Also with serial numbers starting with letters X, Y and Z.
