'Doubt' Tops Screen Actors Guild Noms
Streep, Hoffman Among Drama's Five Notices

There's no doubt about it: "Doubt" was on the minds of voters for this year's Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.SAG announced the nominees for its 15th annual ceremony Thursday, awarding "Doubt" five nods to lead the film category. Meryl Streep was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role, while Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Viola Davis each earned supporting nods.The "Doubt" actors were also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, along with the casts of "Frost/Nixon," "Milk," "Slumdog Millionaire" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.""Benjamin Button" also earned nominations for lead male actor for Brad Pitt, and supporting female actor for Taraji P. Henson.In the running with Pitt for the leading actor SAG Award are Richard Jenkins for "The Visitor," Frank Langella" for "Frost/Nixon," Sean Penn for "Milk" and Mickey Rourke for "The Wrestler."Facing off against Streep for the female actor trophy are Anne Hathaway for "Rachel Getting Married," Angelina Jolie for "Changeling," Melissa Leo for "Frozen River" and Kate Winslet for "Revolutionary Road."Joining Hoffman in the male supporting actor race are Josh Brolin for "Milk," Robert Downey Jr. for "Tropic Thunder," Dev Patel for "Slumdog Millionaire" and Heath Ledger, posthumously, for "The Dark Knight."Joining Adams, Davis and Henson in the female supporting award race are Penelope Cruz for "Vicky Christina Barcelona" and Winslet for "The Reader."Four shows led the primetime television categories with three nominations each: the sitcom "30 Rock," dramas "Mad Men" and "The Closer," and the miniseries "John Adams."Already an Emmy winner for Best Comedy Series, "30 Rock" earned a nomination for outstanding ensemble cast for a comedy, along with "Desperate Housewives," "Entourage," "The Office" and "Weeds,"Joining "Mad Men" and "The Closer" in the drama ensemble cast competition are "Boston Legal," "Dexter" and "House."The 15th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be handed out Jan. 25 in Los Angeles. Legendary actor James Earl Jones will be presented with SAG's Life Achievement Award.
