Seattle is an amazing city filled with unique neighborhoods that have distinct personalities. In the Rainier Valley, we are proud of our distinction as the “most diverse neighborhood” in the United States. With a reported 60 languages that are spoken in the district, the neighborhood is a microcosm of a global village and those that live here enjoy the many cultures of the area through personal relationships, shops, restaurants and festivals. Come experience this unique community through a weekend of parade, party and festival fun.
Rainier Valley Heritage Parade, Summer Streets Party and Art in the AlleyCelebrating the diversity of 98118 (one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the country). We "open" Rainier Ave. in Columbia City for five hours and create a neighborhood party. We will have 75 talent groups in the parade and street party with the Mayor opening the street, for locally produced activities including: Music venues, Green St., World St., Art St., Exercise St., Restaurant Row, BBQ St., and Art in the Alley. Local light rail stop: Columbia City, 3 blocks away. Several local and City organizations produce this event.
