Location: 2100 24th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98144
This workshop will teach you how to facilitate some of our favorite and most effective activities geared towards moving participants from colorblindness to racial cognizance. While you participate in hands-on exercises, we?ll guide you through strategies we?ve used to help deepen the conversation in a way that allows participants to construct new knowledge. Both experienced and novice trainers will learn new activities and skills.
All participants will receive a set of Norm Cards and a free copy of our Activities CD, complete with lesson plans, PowerPoint presentations, articles, poems, handouts, evaluation forms, and more!
This workshop is a great follow-up if you?ve already taken our Train the Trainer, although that is not a prerequisite. It is an opportunity to apply many of the strategies we discuss in our book.
Participants will?
Learn to facilitate activities that invite participants into new understandings of racism, privilege and power.
Further develop strategies to address discomfort and tension in workshops.
Leave with lesson plans for activities ranging from basic facilitation skills to advanced.
