Location: *Central Library Contact Info: *Central Library 206-386-4636 or Ask a Librarian Description: Join us for an introduction to US Topo, the new generation of topographic maps from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) that show elevation and landforms. Registration is required. Description: Class instructor Tom Carlson, the Washington State Geospatial Liaison to the USGS, will show you how to use US Topo in a hands-on environment. You may use a branch computer or bring your own laptop. Some of the topics covered will be: - Searching for digital US topographic maps using the US Topo website - Downloading and displaying topo maps - Utilizing measuring and labeling tools - Adding additional map information - Accessing historical digital USGS topo maps
