First Friday Lectures Going for Gold February 1, 2013 11 am-noon Plestcheeff Auditorium Join Pam McClusky, SAM Curator of Art of Africa and Oceania, and Julie Emerson, SAM's Ruth J. Nutt Curator of Decorative Arts, as they discuss Going for Gold, an exhibition of textiles and objects of beauty from SAM's collection. This special installation features a range of objects and materials, including glittering French brocades, imperial Chinese robes, powdered-gold lacquer boxes, and African hammered-gold earrings.Admission is free to members and adults over the age of 62 on the first Friday of every month. For other visitors, this lecture is free with museum admission.
