Thursday, January 31, 2013 9:00 am - 12:30 pm The Art of Referral & Accessing Community Resources There is an art to making referrals, especially at times when resources are scarce. In the first part of this training, you'll learn interviewing techniques, ways to build rapport, and how to help clients advocate for themselves when seeking assistance. The second part of this course focuses on quickly and efficiently locating resources using the tools of King County 2-1-1. We'll show you the best way to navigate our online database, Community Resources Online, as well as how to make use of Resource Talk, Emergency Services Brochures, and the Where to Turn Plus directory. Better utilize the time you spend with your clients by learning how to apply these tools in concert with one another. Training includes a copy of the 2013 Where To Turn Plus* directory, a $35 value. *The 2013 edition of Where to Turn Plus will not be available at the time of the training.
