Since 2001, his first year in office, Sam Reed has headed six official missions to the Far East. These missions have been planned and arranged in cooperation with non-profit and public agencies such as the World Trade Center Tacoma and the U.S. Commercial Service, and with support from private sponsors here and chambers of commerce in the host countries.  Mr. Reed will share both his experiences, photos and reasons why these trade missions are vital to the economy of the state of Washington. Mr. Reed was accompanied by both small and midsized business owners on these trips which were invaluable in setting up partnerships to increase our trade with foreign countries. This program will provide a rare, first hand telling of what one experiences on such a mission, what the opportunities are and what part these missions play in our local economy.
