From pre-Columbian times to today's environmental-justice movements, women and men have responded to the environment and environmental issues in profoundly different ways-and the synergy produced by the interplay between environment and sex, sexuality, and gender is just beginning. Now, on the heels of the 50th anniversary of Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, Seattle native Nancy Unger, Associate Professor of History at Santa Clara University and author of Beyond Nature's Housekeepers, examines how women have played a unique role, for better and sometimes for worse, in the shaping of the American environment. $5 * contact the Venue listed below for ticketing information
