New 35mm prints and restorations in English dubbed and original language versions Studio Ghibli, founded in Tokyo in 1985 by animation directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, is one of the most successful and well-respected animation studios in the world. Cultivating a creative force of talented directors, animators and storytellers under the revered brilliance of Miyazaki and Takahata, Studio Ghibli's films have been praised for their originality, dazzling animation and epic storytelling. Back after a successful run last year, this retrospective of Studio Ghibli's films features new 35mm prints of the studio's biggest hits, with most films presented in both their original Japanese language with English subtitles and the celebrated English language versions as supervised by Studio Ghibli. Plus, for this return engagement of the Ghibli series, we also present the newly restored digital print of Isao Takahata's emotionally moving masterpiece Grave of the Fireflies. Don't miss your chance to see some of the greatest animated films of all time back on the giant screen! $11 | $6 SIFF Members | $10 Youth (20 & under) and Seniors (65+); Matinees: $8 | $6 SIFF Members * contact the Venue listed below for ticketing information
