Location: 21 Acres Center for Local Food and Sustainable Living, 13701 NE 171st St Woodinville, WA 98072 You?ve decided to raise chickens. Now what? The Particulars of the Poultry Palette will address the feeding, nutrition, and care that are necessary to maintain a flourishing flock. From chicks to chickens, this class will teach you how to properly feed, water, and exercise your flock to maintain a healthy wealth of eggs and meat Participants will learn how to feed chickens through various life stages, the importance of water consumption, diet supplementation, and exercise to maintain a healthy flock. The class will go outside to visit the chickens and use for the class discussion. Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Instructor: Jake Harris is owner of Stone Soup Gardens, a full service landscaping company that specializes in edible landscaping. Stone Soup Gardens builds beautiful urban farms, chicken coops, honeyscapes, and rain gardens. Stone Soup Gardens is a certified rain garden installer through Seattle Public Utilities? Rainwise program. Stone Soup Gardens teaches on-going classes for chicken rearing, seasonal vegetable growth, rain gardens and for individuals, businesses, and community groups like Seattle Tilth, Readers to Eaters, and NW SolarFest. Jake enjoys using gardens to inspire joy and social change.
