Romance is in the air-along with some of the most romantic music in the world-at this celebration of Cuba's contribution to the love of love. Because if Cubans didn't actually invent romance, they did create its most exquisite forms of expression: the bolero and its jazzy offshoot, el Feeling. And no one expresses that emotion better than Grammy-nominated Cuban guitarist, composer, and vocalist Juan-Carlos Formell, who performs a program called Un bolero que te salve la vida / A Bolero to Save Your Life. Formell has forged a post-modern identity for AfroCuban music that has been hailed as "musical magic realism"; his five albums-including his Grammy-nominated debut, Songs from a Little Blue House-constitute an epic poem of Antillean mytho-history. Presented by Town Hall as part of its Global Rhythms series. $22 advance * contact the Venue listed below for ticketing information
