Banned Chocolate Eggs With Toys Show Up In Stores

Some stores have reportedly been selling a banned chocolate egg as Easter approaches, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said in a news release.

The Kinder-brand chocolate eggs were banned in 1997, and the agency said they should be pulled from shelves.

A toy surprise hidden inside the egg can pose a choking hazard to children under 3 years old.

The eggs are hollow milk chocolate and about as big as a large egg. They come in orange, white and blue foil wrappers.

The chocolate surrounds an plastic capsule.

Consumers who have purchased this product should immediately take them away from young children, the CPSC said.
