Hilary Duff has had a busy week! Four days after announcing her breakup with husband Mike Comrie comes the news that she's been cast in a new sitcom pilot for TV Land called Younger.
As Deadlinereports, The comedy stars Bunheads alum Sutton Foster as Liza, "a 40-something woman who reinvents herself and starts living a double life — one as a suburban mom and another as a 29-year old working girl in the city — after her husband leaves her and her child goes to college."
Hilary will play Kelsey, a "smart, ambitious" co-worker who becomes one of Liza's friends, not realizing that this newcomer is much older than she claims.
The 26-year-old actress is best known for her Disney Channel show Lizzie McGuire; a handful of teen-oriented movies like Agent Cody Banks, A Cinderella Story, and Cheaper by the Dozen; and her well-received pop career.
In recent years, Hilary has taken guest-starring gigs on TV shows and roles in indie films. She wed Mike, a hockey player, in 2010; and the couple welcomed son Luca Cruz in 2012. On January 10, the spouses announced a separation, albeit one that seems amicable.
Younger boasts other worthy talent, too — Sex and the City creator Darren Star wrote the pilot and serves as executive producer.
Here's looking forward to Hil's next chapter!Source: Deadline
