Health Department Warns Against Eating Some Kinds Of Fish

SEATTLE -- State health officials say some fish in Lake Washington contain PCBs in levels high enough to cause problems for people who eat them.The Washington State Department of Health says people should not eat north pikeminnow, also known as squawfish, and should eat only limited amounts of yellow perch and cutthroat trout.
The health department said sockeye salmon have been found to have very low levels of PCBs.PCBs were used in coolants, electrical equipment and other products before they were banned in 1977.
