EVERETT, Wash. -- Officials are telling some households in Snohomish County to boil their water because contaminants may have entered water lines. The Snohomish County Public Utility District said the advisory applies to 361 households served by the Kayak Estates water system near Stanwood.Officials said a supply well temporarily failed, causing a loss of pressure that might have allowed contaminants to get into the lines.Officials expect the advisory to remain in effect for 48 to 72 hours, until tests show the water is safe.
