First Confirmed Swine Flu-Related Death Reported In Lewis County

CHEHALIS, Wash. -- The first Swine Flu-related death in Lewis County was reported Tuesday by public health officials.Lewis County Public Health said the victim, a woman in her early 30s, died on October 11.Earlier Tuesday, Washington state laboratory results confirmed that the Chehalis resident’s death was related to Swine Flu, though they could not confirm that it was the primary cause of her death. The woman sought treatment for pneumonia the week before her death and had been taking antibiotics.Health officials said the day of her death, the woman was at home, collapsed and was transported to Providence St. Peter’s Hospital in Olympia where she later died.
