New Method Of Plastic Surgery Will Be Less Invasive

There's a new way to get a facelift without going under the knife.
The new method promises a less invasive lift and tuck.
It's called the feather lift. It's not F-D-A approved just yet, but it's getting a lot of attention.
Lasers can have your skin glowing, and
Botox can stop it from wrinkling, but according to some experts, nothing turns back the clock, like going under the knife.
"So far, plastic surgery has been the best way to correct and reposition skin into its more juvenile appearance," said Marianno Busso, a cosmetic dermatologist.
But for many people, a facelift seems like a gruesome road to good looks with its long recovery period and surgical risks.
Tiny threads may provide an alternative. Made from the same suturing material already used in plastic surgery, the threads are unique.
On each end they have opposing sets of teeth, or cogs. During the procedure, called a featherlift, the surgeon inserts the threads under the tissues of the face with a thin needle. The teeth on one end grab and lift the sagging skin. The teeth on the other end anchor that skin to the rest of the facial tissues with no cuts, no stitches, no scars.
Dr. Busso says it takes less than an hour to perform, with almost no downtime.
FDA approval is pending, but because the procedure is still investigational, we couldn't talk to patients. But before and after photos suggest the featherlift could soon become a cosmetic heavyweight.
Even so, the featherlift facelift isn't for everyone. It's mainly used to lift the brows, cheeks, jowls and neck. So if you feel your face needs more work, the procedure probably won't work for you.
