Duke Holds Off Arizona State

(Sports Network) - Chante Black racked up 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the third-seeded Duke Blue Devils to a 67-59 victory over sixth-seeded Arizona State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Jasmine Thomas pitched in 11 points for Duke (25-9), which advances to the Sweet 16 to take on second-seeded Texas A&M in the Oklahoma City Region.

Briann January tallied 17 points for Arizona State (22-11), which got 13 points from Lauren Lacey and 11 points from Dymond Simon.

Duke led 27-24 at intermission despite shooting 38.7 percent from the floor in the first half.

Over the final 20 minutes, the Blue Devils were able to seal the victory with a 16-of-20 effort from the foul line.

Duke earned a 42-31 rebounding advantage in the clash and held Arizona State to 38.5 percent field goal efficiency.
