Summitt Earns 100th NCAA Tournament Victory

West Lafayette, IN -- (Sports Network) - Candace Parker posted 24 points to lead the top-seeded Tennessee Lady Vols to a 78-52 romp over the ninth-seeded Purdue Boilermakers in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.Alexis Hornbuckle added 14 points, eight steals and five assists for the Lady Vols (32-2), who earned head coach Pat Summitt her 100th career NCAA Tournament victory. Vicki Baugh pitched in 12 points off the bench for Tennessee. Keshia Mosley scored 14 points and Kalika France added 10 points in the setback for Purdue (19-15), which did not take advantage of a homecourt advantage. Tennessee led 40-20 at intermission after limiting Purdue to 32 percent shooting from the field in the first half. The Lady Vols connected on 51.7 percent of their field goal attempts over the final 20 minutes to seal the victory.
Tennessee earned a 41-28 rebounding advantage in the clash and forced 24 turnovers.
