Walvius Resigns As South Carolina Women's Basketball Coach

(Sports Network) - Susan Walvius has resigned as the head women's basketball coach at the University of South Carolina, the school announced Monday.

In 11 seasons with the Gamecocks, Walvius had a 165-160 record, with a 51-103 mark in Southeastern Conference play. In 2002 under Walvius, South Carolina reached the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, and reached the WNIT the past three seasons.

South Carolina athletic director Eric Hyman said the school will begin a national search for Walvius' replacement immediately.
