Reds Option Bailey To Triple-A

(Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds optioned right-hander Homer Bailey to Triple-A Louisville Wednesday.

Bailey, the seventh overall pick in the 2004 amateur draft, was expected to make the Reds' starting rotation but had a rough spring, finishing 1-3 with a 5.21 earned run average in six games. In 19 innings, the 21-year old pitching prospect allowed 11 earned runs, 24 hits, 16 walks and struck out 11.

In 2007, Bailey made nine starts in the bigs, recording a 4-2 mark with a 5.76 ERA.
