Nats Put C Estrada On DL

POSTED: 3:49 pm PDT March 26, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Washington Nationals placed catcher Johnny Estrada on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday due to a right elbow injury.

The move for Estrada is retroactive. He didn't play in any spring training games and hit .278 with 10 homers and 54 RBI in 120 games for the Brewers last season.

The Nationals also finalized their 25-man roster for the start of the season, prior to Sunday night's season-opener against the Atlanta Braves. The game will be held at Washington's new stadium - Nationals Park.

To get to the limit, the Nationals optioned left-handed pitcher John Lannan and right-handed pitcher Chris Schroder to Triple-A Columbus. They also outrighted outfielder Ryan Langerhans and reassigned infielder Pete Orr to Columbus.
