Peoria, AZ -- (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres made a flurry of roster moves on Wednesday, including placing pitchers Mark Prior and Clay Hensley on the disabled list. The oft-injured Prior, who signed a one-year, $1 million dollar deal with the Padres this offseason, is still recovering from shoulder surgery that forced him to miss the entire 2007 season and was placed on the 60-day DL. The flame-throwing Prior is not expected to pitch until June at the earliest. Hensley is sidelined with a right shoulder strain and was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to March 21. Hensley was 2-3 with a 6.84 ERA last season in 13 games with San Diego. Two other Padres pitchers, right-hander Carlos Guevara (strained right groin) and left-hander Justin Hampson (left shoulder tendinitis), were also placed on the 15-day DL, while pitcher Tim Stauffer joined Prior on the 60-day DL with a right shoulder strain. In other roster moves, San Diego purchased the contracts of left-handed pitcher Glendon Rusch and outfielder Jody Gerut from its Triple-A affiliate in Portland. The Padres also optioned right-handed pitcher Kevin Cameron and infielder Luis Rodriguez to Triple-A.
