Millwood Sent To 15-day DL

Arlington, TX -- (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers placed starting pitcher Kevin Millwood on the 15-day disabled list on Sunday with a strained right groin.Millwood left Saturday's 6-4 victory over the Oakland Athletics after just two-thirds of an inning. Josh Rupe came on in relief. Millwood (2-3) has a 4.88 ERA in 48 innings through nine starts, with 19 walks and 29 strikeouts and a complete game this season. The Rangers purchased the contract of pitcher Doug Mathis from Triple-A Oklahoma to replace Millwood on the roster. Additionally, Texas has outrighted pitcher Kazuo Fukumori, currently at Triple-A Oklahoma, off the 40-man roister.
