Report: Experts Expect More Dreamliner Delays

SEATTLE -- Industry experts believe Boeing will deliver far fewer of its new 787 Dreamliner planes than the company hoped to in 2009, the Seattle Times reported Wednesday.The experts told the newspaper that only 45 planes or fewer will be able to roll out of Everett next year because of delays in manufacturing and test flights.Originally, Boeing wanted to deliver 112 Dreamliners in 2009.The latest delay in production was announced in January, when Boeing said the first 787 test flight would be in June and production would start in early 2009. Experts told the Times they question whether that's possible now.Boeing did not comment for the story.The company is expected to announce its latest delivery status for the Dreamliner by the end of this month.
