Posted: 9:11 am PDT October 9, 2008Updated: 9:46 am PDT October 9, 2008

Hasbro is recalling its Nerf N-Strike toy.

Officials said a child's skin can get caught in the toy's plunger, causing injury to the face, neck or chest.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said dozens of injuries to kids between the ages of four and 12 have been reported.

The toy bears a model number of 63552 (and a UPC code of 653569272021) on the packaging.

The toy is made in China and sold at Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Zellers, discount stores and toy stores from November 2007 to August 2008.

Consumers are asked to take the toy away from children and contact Hasbro for a free cylindrical cover to prevent additional injuries.
