Posted: 12:04 pm PDT April 16, 2004

A Puyallup man who cheated more than a hundred people out of their Social Security benefits has been sentenced to jail time.

Mark Haskey's job was administering benefits for people too disabled to handle money themselves.

Federal prosecutors say he helped himself to more than $160,000 of that money.

Haskey pleaded guilty to two counts of Social Security fraud.

He was sentenced to 15 months in federal prison and three years' probation.

He must also pay back the $167,000 he took.
