Man Finds Child Porn On 'New' Computer

Computer Sold As New Was Refurbished, Store Says

A Seattle man says he found child pornography on a computer he bought for his daughter, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The man, who did not want his name used, said he purchased a new Compaq Presario at Sam's Club in north Seattle but found the images when he was setting up the computer for his 13-year-old daughter.

The man returned the computer to Sam's Club and found out the computer wasn't new but was refurbished.

"They swore [the technician] always goes through it," the man said. "He didn't go through this one."

Sam Club gave the man a new computer and turned the old one over to police, who said detectives will track down the original owner.

A Sam's Club representative said the company is "sorry this happened." "[We] don't want anything like this to happen to any of our members."

The company says it is helping police in their investigation.
