Pictures from Chopper 7 showed the plume rising several hundred feet just after sunrise before slowly dissipating.

The volcano has been actively lately.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports three quakes between magnitude 2.6 and 2.8 Sunday night and Monday morning. They followed a 3.1 quake on Saturday at the volcano that was the strongest since a new lava dome began growing on the volcano this fall.

Clear weather over the volcano Monday was giving scientists a chance to make fresh observations and measurements, collect samples and repair equipment.
