Sports Channels | McGrady On The Shelf For Another WeekMonday, December 1, 2008 Houston, TX -- (Sports Network) - Houston Rockets forward Tracy McGrady is expected to be out for another week due to a sore left knee, while guard Brent Barry will be sidelined at least another two weeks due to a right leg injury.McGrady, who is averaging 15.6 points in 15 games this season, was evaluated by noted sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL on Monday. Andrews confirmed an initial diagnosis by the Rockets that McGrady has general soreness in his knee from offseason surgery. McGrady, who has missed Houston's last three games, will continue his rehabilitation program and will likely miss another week. From there, his playing time will be restricted upon his return to lessen the amount of stress on the knee. Despite not having McGrady in the lineup, the Rockets are 11-7 this season and are in first place in the Southwest Division. Barry, who has missed the last two contests with a calf injury, visited Rockets team physician Tom Clanton Monday at the Texas Medical Center. Barry, who is averaging just 2.9 points in 14 games this season, was diagnosed with a small tear in the Plantaris muscle on his right leg. The injury will require Barry to rest for about the next two weeks before resuming his on-court practice activities. Copyright 2008 Courtesy of The Sports Network. More Sports | Sports E-News |
