Lowly Thunder Try To Stop Skid In Memphis
(Sports Network) - The woeful Oklahoma City Thunder will try to stop a 14-game slide when they open a four-game road trip tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.Oklahoma City hasn't tasted victory since its first win of the season on November 2 versus Minnesota and fell to 1-16 following Friday's heart-breaking 105-103 setback to the Timberwolves at the Ford Center. Mike Miller buried a jump shot with 0.1 seconds left to lead the way. Kevin Durant and Jeff Green scored 22 points apiece for the Thunder, who also lost 14 in a row from February 3 - March 5, 1996, when they were located in Seattle. Chris Wilcox ended with a season-high 21 points and Russell Westbrook had 15 and eight assists in defeat. The Thunder are 0-7 as the guest this season and will also visit Charlotte, Orlando and Miami on the swing. Head coach Scott Brooks is 0-4 since replacing the fired P.J. Carlesimo last week. Memphis has dropped five in a row, including last night's 109-98 loss to the San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center. Rookie O.J. Mayo had a game-high 32 points for Memphis, which got 26 points from Rudy Gay. Mike Conley scored 13 points in a losing cause. The Grizzlies went 3-1 against the Seattle/Oklahoma City franchise a year ago and have won seven of the past 11 matchups. Memphis has won three straight as the host in this series.
