Window Falls From Downtown Highrise

Posted: 12:32 pm PST November 20, 2006Updated: 1:12 pm PST November 20, 2006

Police closed an area of downtown Seattle to traffic after a window fell to the street late Monday morning.

Union Street between First and Second avenues and First Avenue from University to Pike streets was closed.

Video from Chopper 7 showed police tape and patrol cars closing access to the area.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News viewers said the window that crashed down came from the area of the 14th floor of the WaMu Center. The window apparently was hit by a window washer's ledge that swung during a wind gust, they said.
