Baby Found, Amber Alert Canceled

Authorities Locate Mother And Baby In Wyoming

After a three day search and an Amber Alert, authorities tracked down a Kitsap mother and her baby in Wyoming on Saturday. Authorities have located Rebecca Forrester and her two-month-old baby alive and seemingly well.

According to Kitsap County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Wilson, the mother has been taken into custody and the Amber Alert has been canceled. The baby was taken to a hospital to be examined and evaluated.

Another woman was with the duo when they were found and police have detained her for questioning. Deputy Wilson tells KIRO-TV that it is not clear at this point what role, if any, the second woman played in the abduction.

Kitsap County sheriff's deputies were looking for the woman and child, who they feared was in danger. The sheriff's office said the mother has a history of drug use and child abuse.

Deputies say Rebecca Forrester had her parental rights terminated by court order. She apparently took the baby, named Serenity Withrow, without permission. They were last seen on Wednesday in Poulsbo.

The investigation into this case continues.
