Deputies are looking for the car they said struck and killed an 81-year-old woman who was crossing the street in Burien on Tuesday.

The woman was walking in a marked crosswalk in the 13400 block of Ambaum Boulevard Southwest at 12:20 p.m. One car stopped for the woman, but a car heading northbound in the next lane did not, and she was hit, deputies said.

“Just on a walk, and in a crosswalk, doing what she was supposed to do, and the first car stopped for like they are supposed to do. But the second one over did not, and the results is a woman died,” Sgt. John Urquhart with the King County Sheriff’s Office said.

Ambaum Way at 134th was closed for the investigation.

Deputies said the fleeing vehicle is likely a mid-1990s tan or gold Lincoln Town Car with dark tinted windows and front-end damage from the collision.

They asked anyone with information about the car to call the sheriff's office immediately at 206-296-3311 or 911.
