Cleanup work continues on Highway 8 near McCleary where a tanker truck overturned and caught fire.

The truck was carrying 10,000 gallons of diesel and gasoline when it crashed and burned Saturday near the Grays Harbor-Thurston county line, spilling some fuel near a creek.

The Transportation Department said the westbound lane will be closed until Wednesday while crews remove fuel-soaked dirt from a culvert.

The man driving the tanker for Pettit Oil said he crashed after swerving to miss several deer.
