The driver of a yellow car was tailgating other cars and weaving between lanes before the vehicle cut off a red pickup truck, causing the pickup to flip, troopers told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Anna Velasquez.

The pickup's driver was severely injured but is expected to survive, troopers said.

The collision -- just east of state Route 9 near Snohomish -- stopped traffic in both directions.

All lanes were reopened at 2 p.m., officials with the state Department of Transportation said.
