Posted: 4:03 pm PDT August 6, 2007Updated: 2:03 pm PDT August 7, 2007

A body was discovered in Commencement Bay near the Lobster Shop restaurant in Tacoma Monday afternoon, Tacoma police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The body appears to be skeletal remains in a diving suit in 200 feet of water.

An off-duty firefighter on a dive noticed the remains.

Tacoma police said they believe it may be a diver who disappeared in the same area in November 2006.

Divers used sonar and an underwater remote device to recover the body.
