SAMMAMISH, Wash. -- Former Sammamish resident Kimberly Vaughn and her three children, Abbi, Sandi and Blake, are being mourned by residents on the Eastside after the family was found murdered in the Chicago area in June.“She was very outgoing and bubbly and caring,” neighbor Trish Brock said about Vaughn.Vaughn and her three children were found shot to death in the family’s vehicle.Vaughn’s husband, Chris Vaughn, is being charged with the murders.“I don’t have any, 'Gosh you should have noticed these red flags,' because there were not any red flags,” Brock said. “It just shouldn’t be that way. If he had a problem, there are other ways to solve them.”“He’s not the person we thought. He was supposed to take care of them,” Kimberly Vaughn's close friend Kim Moynihan said. “We had play dates, we had sleepovers, drop the kids here, drop the kids there. It’s a betrayal for all of us.”Thursday night ,friends and classmates of the Vaughn family gathered at Margaret Mead Elementary School to remember the family.“I hope it gives the kids permission to grieve and to be sad and to find some healing,” Margaret Mead teacher Helen Craft said. “They just brought sunshine; it was not something that should have happened.”“I believe Kimberly and the kids were happy up to the last day…I really do,” Brock said.
