Metal thieves stole gold-plated pipes and copper wiring from the Seafair pirates' "ship" Moby Duck, police told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

The theft of about $3,500 worth of metal from the float used in countless Seafair parades happened last Friday night at the warehouse where the vehicle is stored.

The thefts included six 1-foot-long gold-plated steel pipes that look like cannons.

The thieves also stripped copper wiring from the warehouse near Qwest Field.
