Woman Charged With Vehicular Homicide In Wrong-Way Crash

Posted: 3:16 pm PDT October 12, 2007

Prosecutors filed charges Friday against a repeat drunken driver blamed for a fatal head-on crash on Interstate 5.

Cerrissa Christensen was charged with one count of vehicular homicide and one count of vehicular assault in connection with the crash early Monday morning that killed the passenger and critically injured the driver of a pickup truck. Troopers said she was driving the wrong way when her sport utility vehicle collided with the pickup in the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 at state Route 599.

Christensen is being treated at Harborview Medical Center for minor injuries she suffered in the crash. When she is released from the hospital, she will be booked at the King County Jail and held on $750,000 bail, the King County Prosecutor's Office said.

If convicted as charged, she could be sentenced to 65 to 78 months in prison.
