Counties Offer Free Storm Debris Disposal

SEATTLE -- Snohomish and King counties are offering flood victims free disposal of storm-damaged debris.In Snohomish County, residents need to obtain a voucher, and the offer applies to household goods, not demolition or yard waste. The free disposal of storm-damaged goods lasts until April 4.Get more details about Snohomish County's program at the county's Web site.Residents of King County affected by the storm will be able to dispose of debris from Thursday, Dec. 13 through Sunday, Dec. 16.People disposing of storm debris must provide a utility bill or other proof of residents, under a plan offered by County Executive Ron Sims. The offer does not apply to residents of Seattle or Milton, which are not part of the county's solid waste program.Get more information about King County's program at the county's Web site.
