New Seattle Streetcar Involved In Minor Accident

SEATTLE -- No one was hurt in a collision Wednesday morning involving the new Seattle streetcar.The streetcar suffered slight damage to its bumper in the collision with an SUV. It happened at Mercer Street and Terry Avenue at about 7:45 a.m.Police said the SUV driver was cited for running a red light.The orange trolley was stopped with its lights flashing after the incident. It was later put back into service.The collision occurred one week after the debut of the 1.3-mile trolley line that runs from downtown Seattle to South Lake Union.
