8 Banks Robbed By ‘Beaker Bandit’

The Federal Bureau of Investigation released pictures Wednesday of a local bank robber nicknamed the Beaker Bandit, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Police said they gave him the name because he resembles a large-nosed character on the Muppet Show.

Agents said the man is responsible for eight robberies on the Eastside and in Snohomish County in the last three months.

The most recent holdup happened last Saturday in Kirkland.

In all, authorities said the man is believed to have robbed five Washington Mutual banks in Kirkland, Bothell and Everett, as well as a Verity Credit Union in Lynnwood and an Alaska USA Credit Union in Kirkland as well as another bank in Redmond.

The robber is described as a white man in his 20s who is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.
