EVERETT -- A criminal investigation is underway into the boiling death of a monkey at a North Sound primate research lab.Snohomish County Prosecutor, Janice Ellis, confirmed today, the Everett police department "is looking at the issue of possible animal cruelty at SNBL."This action comes as a direct result of an undercover KIRO Team 7 Investigation into the facility. We discovered that a cleaning crew placed a healthy, female monkey into a steaming, hot rack-washer - killing the animal. The National Humane Society also issued a release today, asking local prosecutors for "meaningful" penalties for those involved in the death of the monkey.
