High School Coach Accused Of Sharing Explicit Images Of Female Student

A 20-year-old baseball and football coach at Montesano High School pleaded guilty to telephonic harassment Wednesday for trading explicit cell phone photos with a 17-year-old female student and then sharing them with others.

“He showed them to several other people. He showed them to members of the football team,” prosecutor Stew Menefee said.

Tyler Trimble, who worked as an explorer scout with the Montesano Police Department, allegedly showed the pictures to several law enforcement officers.

“Two police officers who saw the photographs didn’t realize this was a 17-year-old girl,” Menefee said.

Parents and students at Montesano High School said it was hard to believe the coach admitted responsibility for this type of crime.

“They were kind of shocked about it and didn’t really believe that happened, but you know it did,” student Frank Carpenter said.

A state patrol investigation of the case recommended charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and possessing and distributing child pornography, but the prosecutor offered a plea agreement because the victim did not want to testify.

“It involved a very humiliating and embarrassing situation for a 17-year-old girl,” Menefee said.

Trimble was sentenced to one year in jail, but the judge suspended the sentence and placed him on two year's probation.
