The car belonging to a SeaTac man who disappeared last week was found in Monday in Federal Way, friends of the man told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Nicholas Francisco's car, a red 1992 Toyota Paseo hatchback, was found on South 340th Street Monday morning at the Heritage Condominiums, his friends said.

According to police, a person who had seen Francisco’s story on the news recognized the car and contacted police.

His family said he left his job in lower Queen Anne on Wednesday and never returned to his home. According to his wife, Christine, Francisco called her Wednesday evening at about 6 p.m. to say he was on his way home and promised his 4-year-old daughter he’d bake Valentine’s Day cookies with her that night.

“My husband would fight so hard to come home to us, and I will do the same for him,” Christine Francisco said.

Family and friends of Nicholas Francisco spent Sunday searching the neighborhood where he worked. About 65 friends, church members and family went door to door at the condos, asking if anyone had seen the missing man.

Sightings of the 28-year-old have been reported at a gas station on Elliot Avenue in Seattle and also in Burien.

His wife said she believes Francisco is in trouble and said he would never take off on his own. The couple is expecting their third child.

The King County Sheriff’s Department told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News officers did not find anything obvious in the car to suggest what may have happened to Francisco or any evidence of foul play.

Authorities are expected to search nearby woods Tuesday.

Anyone with information on Francisco’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
