Seattle Police tell KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that a teen-age boy was shot several times in the leg at a Northgate mall parking lot around 6:15 Friday evening.

Seattle Police spokesperson Renee Witt says the victim is a 15 year old hispanic boy. He was leaving the mall with two of his friends when they were confronted in the parking lot by three other hispanic males between 19-20 years old.

The two groups got into an argument. And, according to Witt, one of the suspects fired seven to eight rounds in the direction of the three victims. The victim was struck once in the groin and once in the leg.

Firefighters and medics responded to the scene and treated the teen. Seattle Fire Department's Helen Fitzpatrick says the patient was transported to Harborview Medical Center. He is expected to live.

Seattle Police detectives remained at the mall parking lot Friday night, interviewing witnesses, and trying to locate the three suspects, who had fled on foot.

The two other teens who were with the victim weren't hit.

The shooting happened in the southeast parking lot of the mall, just outside of Payless Shoes and Macy's.
