Police said they arrested a man on a riding lawn mower after he yelled obscenities at a homeowner, broke out a window and then led officers on a slow-speed chase.

The Vancouver, Wash. homeowner, Jason Taylor, said he returned home on Monday to see a man riding a lawn mower down the street. The man then stopped in front of Taylor’s house.

Taylor said he called 911 when the man started yelling obscenities at him, stumbled through his gate and angrily approached his home.

While on the phone with police, Taylor said the man grabbed a lawn chair, smashed out the home’s front window and then continued down the street on the mower.

As officers responded, the man crossed into traffic on Fourth Plain Boulevard and headed south on Harney Street moving 3 to 5 mph, police said.

An officer passed the driver, exited the patrol car and ordered the man to stop. The officer said the man swerved to hit him but he was able to get out of the way and was unhurt.

Shortly after, multiple officers arrived and removed the man from the mower.

Stephen Ray Castor, 52, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault of the officer and malicious mischief for allegedly breaking Taylor's window, police said.
